Can you create a vintage locket necklace for my granddaughter? Yet another great idea from a client (and dear friend)! I’ve always loved lockets so searching for a special one was certainly a labor of love.
As I began, I tried to keep in mind that this locket was for a 16-year-old young lady. Though told she loves old things (girl after my own heart!) I didn’t want a vintage locket that was too matronly OR too little girlish.
So I was thrilled to find this one - in perfect condition inside and out! I immediately fell in love with its delicate rose-gold design. And I confess, I had to repeatedly tell myself this was for a very special young granddaughter so no, I could not keep it for myself!
Once I had the locket I tried various pearl sizes until I found what I felt was the perfect size for the hand-stitched chain. I love how it all came together, and what a special treat to receive a photo of the granddaughter wearing it as she prepared to attend a dance!
