The "Rose Adagio" from Tchaikovsky's The Sleeping Beauty is when Princess Aurora dances with her four potential suitors, each of them presenting her with a rose. One of the most notoriously difficult pieces for a ballerina, she must promenade in attitude en pointe as each suitor holds one of her hands and circles around her, turning her like a figurine in a music box. At the end of each promenade, she must then balance on her own as each of the four princes steps in to partner her. As if that isn't difficult enough, she has to perform this series TWICE, both at the beginning of the piece and at the end!
